Dreams Really Do Come True!

The lyrics from the classic song from the Wizard of Oz: Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream, Really do come true. Someday I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, High above the chimney tops, That's where you'll find me. Somewhere over the rainbow, blue birds fly Birds fly over the rainbow Why then, oh why can't I? If happy little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow Why, oh why can't I? Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue And the dreams that you dare to dream, Really do come true. Someday I'll wish upon a star And wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, High above the chimney

The Roots

What are you grounded in? What is the core thing /practice/activity/thought that anchors you in the world? I am realizing how important this is to health and happiness. Can you peel away all the "stuff" in your life and come up with one root element that drives you? I believe this is a powerful force as we come back to our roots continually through our days and nights. If the core is a negative belief about ourselves that is buried and unconscious, we may not be connected to the life we are producing. If the root is conscious but self-sabotaging, we may struggle and suffer and not produce the product/life that we are shooting for. When the core internal state and practice which supports it are conscious and loving to ourselves, the creation will be a work of art. The big question is: can we change this root belief and how? I believe the answer is yes but it takes will and a willingness to look and see. The will requires us to have a process to hold onto what we wish

Future Del Mar Times Article My Prescription for a Healthy Life By Mark Kalina MD             As a doctor, the biggest question I have for my patients is “what does it mean for you to be well?” It is not just the absence of disease that makes a person qualify as well. There is a different sense of being well for every person. It often has very little or nothing to do with the state of our physical being . The biggest impediments to feeling well are the limitations and rules we impose upon ourselves  that take away the joy of living. We end up feeling stuck or trapped and this is what keeps us from being truly well.             When people come to see me for individual or group consultation, I ask them a few questions. Do you like yourself? Do you like your life? Are you “there” for yourself when things go awry? Are you your own best friend? Do you like your relationships? Do you like who you are in your relationships? Are you proud of yourself? How do you handle th
