Taking the Trip Down from the Head to the Heart

I have spent my life studying, learning and trying to understand the way things work. I make my living with talking through problems. I have always thought and believed the mind to be central to my being and the key to human health and healing.

While I still value my mind, brain and thinking capacity, I am quickly coming to a new perspective. I have come to recognize that healing happens through the heart (not the mind) and that feelings (and their expression) are truly the vehicles for healing and transformation.

Thinking and thoughts are important parts of being human and powerful capacities but the "shifts" that allow people to return to health and happiness as well as create new things, evolve out of expressions of deep emotion (like crying). While I have spent my life trying to "figure things out", all this has led to is endless thinking, thought, rumination and obsession. One deep release of emotion does way more for a person than years and decades of thinking. I am learning this with myself and with my clients. I fully realize that this is NOT the "manly" nor the "medical" way. I wish it was not true -- it just is.

Feeling feelings is the path to freedom. Releasing feelings is the road to breaking out of stuck places. Movement happens with emotional expression not thoughts. The lights are coming on as thinking is taking its new, lower place on my priority list. The "feeling" heart is our gift and ticket back to health.

IT'S HAPPENING

Wow, the information available on CCSVI on the internet is truly amazing! I have to admit: I did not research this topic as well as I could have. I did not read the study from Poland before my procedure. I did not realize all the excitement combined with incredible knowledge that is coming out of Georgetown. I am just reading them now and I can hardly contain myself. There is so much data available on CCSVI from around the world. I acted more on a deep gut feeling that CCSVI was real and was my path to healing. I was a little desperate as I felt myself sliding over the last year and didn't feel right with the auto-immune drugs. CCSVI just made sense to me; really good sense. Now reading the data, I am so excited for huge numbers of people to get healed/opened/freed! After doing a little research, it seems that nearly all people with definite MS have CCSVI. It also seems that people with MS who have the procedure have less flairs over time and a better quality of life. Some get a lo...

6 month update and announcement

Wow, it is has been 6 weeks since my last writing. I am currently in Lake Tahoe on holiday with Grace and our puppies. It is amazingly beautiful here. We have come here in the summers intermittently over the past 20 years. Last summer was very difficult for me as I could not sleep and was extremely limited in my activities. It was the lowest I have ever been in my memory. Hiking amidst the beauty is what we love and not being physically able was very hard on me mentally. Thanks to the Liberation Procedure and lots of rehab/re-training, I am very happy to say that I am back on the trails and able to see, feel and experience the beauty again. I am deeply grateful to once again be a participator in this magical life. Nature has always been my temple/church and movement in nature truly lights my fire. Swimming in Lake Tahoe and the surrounding mountain lakes rejuvenates me in ways that nothing I have ever experienced can or does. My favorite hike here -- Five Lakes -- is a rigorous hike u...

The Wind

Tonight after work, I went for a walk with my dogs. The weather had changed and it was blustery. The first half of the walk was against the wind. It felt good. The way back was with a strong wind. It felt incredible! I have not moved that fast in years. I wasn't running but I was striding like I haven't in what feels like a decade. It was nearly effortless. I wasn't out of breath; it was easy. I haven't felt ease in a VERY LONG time but I did tonight. I have been walking once or often twice a day with my dogs. My energy is really good. I only drink 1 cup of coffee a day(used to need 2-3 with a diet coke at lunch). I am working more without any of the exhaustion. Today is my 3 week anniversary since the Liberation Procedure. I do feel like I have been liberated. I have a different body. I have energy -- that is the biggest change. It really feels good to be able to walk without intense focus. I can relax. I can let the wind push me and feel light. That is what I have n...
