The Next Phase

I now have my own medical practice. I am open for business and eager to help people heal and get healthy. I am going to try to write about my experiences helping people as my way to help myself understand what exactly healing is and how it can be facilitated.

It seems the standard medical world is excited and recharged by the amazing possibilities that are arising out of all the new technological innovations that are now here and are definitely coming soon. Smart phones seem destined to revolutionize medical delivery with the incredible things that can be accomplished with our own personal computers that we carry in our pockets or purses. Our homes stand to become mini intensive care units if that is needed and medicine will continue to expand its power outside the hospital and clinic. I am truly grateful to this new progress(which gave me a healing that literally brought me back to life) and am excited to witness the revolutionary forces that are shaping our lives. The possibilities are mind-blowing.

While I am excited to witness this "wild ride", what I wish to focus on and be is an "old-time" doctor with a black bag whose main tools are my ears, my heart and my creativity. I plan to(and have started) helping people get well with a simple strategy. I listen hard for the pearls in their story and guide them to see their situation with new eyes. I do not forsake the technology that is now available. To the contrary, we have an unparalleled opportunity to know what is happening in the body and visualize the structure and function of any system and I want that information. With that knowledge, we(the patient and I) can venture forth toward healing, transformation and well-being. The technology gives us a picture and from here we can usher in changes that bring health. New perceptions, new beliefs, new approaches can unlock the blocks and barriers that have kept us down and made us weak and ill. There is a world of possibility out there that we can tap into. Technology shows us the current state; changing our beliefs can bring a new(and often) a better state.

My coming blogs will detail the stories I have been fortunate enough to witness. Of course, the names will be changed but the stories are real. Healing can happen and I want to talk about it.

IT'S HAPPENING

Wow, the information available on CCSVI on the internet is truly amazing! I have to admit: I did not research this topic as well as I could have. I did not read the study from Poland before my procedure. I did not realize all the excitement combined with incredible knowledge that is coming out of Georgetown. I am just reading them now and I can hardly contain myself. There is so much data available on CCSVI from around the world. I acted more on a deep gut feeling that CCSVI was real and was my path to healing. I was a little desperate as I felt myself sliding over the last year and didn't feel right with the auto-immune drugs. CCSVI just made sense to me; really good sense. Now reading the data, I am so excited for huge numbers of people to get healed/opened/freed! After doing a little research, it seems that nearly all people with definite MS have CCSVI. It also seems that people with MS who have the procedure have less flairs over time and a better quality of life. Some get a lo...

Connecting to the World

This is a picture from the Eucalyptus Grove At UCSD -- my dogs' favorite walk. Upon our return from our adventure, I read this from Buddhist psychologist, Rick Hanson. I really resonate with this aspect of connection. Connecting is in 3 directions -- inside with oneself, with others and with the world. When we strengthen one direction, we simultaneously strengthen our general connection. This is guidance to connect more deeply with the world. What makes you feel connected? I'd like to know.   Are we really so separate? The Practice   Love the world. Why?   Your brain evolved in three stages (to simplify a complex process): Reptile - Brainstem, focused on AVOIDING harm Mammal - Limbic system, focused on APPROACHING rewards Primate - Cortex, focused on ATTACHING to "us" With a fun use (to me, at least) of animal themes, the first JOT in this series -  pet the lizard  - was about how to soothe the most ancient structures of the...
