We live in truly remarkable times. Nearly every day, there is something new technologically which makes life easier and often better. Smart phone technology is racing forward providing miraculous power in the palm of your hand. The full power of the internet is now available 24/7 in almost all locations. Medical "apps" are providing instant access to "libraries" of knowledge and insight. Soon (actually already available), you can have an EKG and echocardiogram of your heart through a smart phone on command. The XBOX 360 Kinect program is making home exercise, yoga, Tai Chi available at all times with ongoing interactive, helpful feedback built in and remarkably effective.
There is truly nothing that seems impossible. The race is on to bring all of this miraculous technology to an ever-growing market. This technology costs but will be available globally and universally for remarkably reasonable investment. Connection between people is now unlimited by time and space. The ability for people to develop, maintain and enhance ongoing relationships has been advanced infinitely with social networking, texting, etc. The world seems to have no limits.
However, the ongoing miracle of technology does have some ceiling. Despite, the seeming infinite power and capacities now available and soon to be available, life is still life and has inherent boundaries. We all still age and get old. We all still need emotional connection (not just access to dialogue). We all have "the human monkey mind" to wrestle with. Humans still are more than willing to go to war with others who see things differently. Knowledge and technology are powerful vehicles but life is more. Life is still lived from the heart and humans need some things that technology can never provide nor enhance.
Technology makes for a dramatic and totally-engrossing life but in the end, life is still about love and the heart and the spirit. An "app" for enhancing consciousness, peace, awareness and true connection is the true work of the day. Now, that would be an invention.
